Awesome gardens right on the water. It has beautiful, huge, old moss covered trees and lovely azaleas and camelia plants throughout.
Wonderful park! Birds, deers, alligators (i visited when closed on Christmas so very quiet)... the nature is so beautiful everywhere you can't stop taking photos.
You can walk or drive through the park, but if you drive you will miss most of the beauty. If you walk wear comfortable shoes as it is several miles.
This was such a fun family outing! Very pretty scenery and fun to see a couple small Gators. The camellias we're even blooming when we went right after Thanksgiving. I just wish the tickets were by car rather than per person, because you drive through the paths.
Lots of different little trails and areas to explore. Lovely greenery and landscape. I only wish that there were longer trails for walking and perhaps seating for picnics and events. Unfortunately many of the water features/fountains are not in operation (at least when I visited).
Absolutely amazing, the unique plant species, the local wildlife (ok that might only be so neat to northerners), the history. Every section of the park felt like a whole new ecosystem. And you can’t beat the price! Loved the gift shop too, everything from items related to the park, to kids toys to garden pretties.
You will have an excellent chance to see alligators, I almost stepped on one.
