What can I say? It's pepper sauce Mecca. The new tour is very informative and gives more insight into the production of Tabasco sauce than the old one. Highly recommended. The country store can be dangerous to your wallet if you're a fan of this stuff, but I wouldn't leave without a bottle of Family Reserve. Can't wait to come back.
A can't miss experience. We did the self guided tour and never felt lost. Plenty of interactive exhibits. The grounds and facility were immaculate. The country store has a fun tasting station and plenty of great products to buy. Don't pass up the jungle tour. Very peaceful. Beautiful.
The facilities tour is interesting and informative. The gift shop is wonderful with lots of samples. Second time to visit and have missed the cafe both times. The jungle gardens are gorgeous and worth every penny.
Avery island is a really cool place. Since I was a kid the tour has changed a lot. It is really detailed and you get to see quite a bit of the facility and learn about how Tabasco became so big. Make sure you have enough time to explore the grounds after the main tour.
Avery Island is a beautiful place. I had the chance to go on a tour of the Tabasco plant while on a visit to the college my son attends. Being from New Orleans Tabasco has always been part of my life and it was great to see how it is made and the story surrounding it. Great place to visit, had a good self guided walking tour that goes along with it.
